Updated: 9. January 2017.
Only few years ago Split used to be just a ‘jump point’ to islands – Šolta, Brač, Hvar, Vis, Korčula. Countless people passed through to ferry port, without dedicating enough time to explore late Roman Emperor Diocletian’s ‘retirement home’ – The Palace. While in rest of the Mediterranean such places are usually in ruins and you pay admission fee to visit, people live inside the palace – 1.700 years!
It’s a kind of ‘live museum’. Palace itself is listed as UNESCO WH site. That’s why it became must-see place. During 4 days you will get the picture of Croatian Adriatic coast, small towns, vineyards, islands and beyond. Last, but not least you’ll meet locals. Also, we would explore local food &wine, because they are great storyteller, too.
