When you make first step in Plitvice lakes, you might think – ‘Wow, it’s a Paradise Lost!’
Wherever you look, there’s a scene worth camera shot. Lakes are highly protected nature, listed as UNESCO WH site.

No wonder, that yearly over 1 million people come here to explore unspoiled nature – geo&hydro phenomenon of the ‘karst’ rocks. Why are they so popular? Lakes offer crystal clear water in all shades of green and blue. When water surface is completely calm, you can see bottom of the lake, like there is no water. Ha!

We would leave Zagreb around 8:00am. On our way to Plitvice Lakes first stop is open-air Homeland War Museum, then 45min stop in Rastoke village for wake-up coffee and sightseeing. Next, Plitvice Lakes visit. On our way back we can visit Diary farm and replenish our energy with local cheese delicacy (optional). Expected return to Zagreb, around 6-7:00pm.

Rastoke old bridge and caféRASTOKE VILLAGE:
small ‘sleepy’ watermill village with interesting rural architecture. Here we would stop for short wake-up coffee and sightseeing (approx. 45min).

PLITVICE LAKES: when we enter national park you will choose how many hours you would like to walk (2.5 – 4 hours). During the walk we’ll use bus and boat, giving us time for refreshment and snacks.

During walking, you pass dense forests of beech, fir and pines – pure oxygen therapy! Lakes surrounding is home to bears, wolves, and great variety of birds, too.

Dairy Farm Cheese Tasting

DAIRY FARM (optional): on our way back, we can visit dairy farm owned by family Novkovic. There we’ll sample local cheese (cow & sheep milk) and delicious Croatian ‘Strukli’ soup (Strukli – dough filled with fresh cottage cheese, cooked as a soup).
